Boracay Count Down

Five days to go, five more days of sleep and I’m off to Boracay. Wow! I’ll be with my officemates/friends. Time flies really fast. I can still remember how impulsive we are and decided to buy/book a ticket, with no place or itinerary in mind. Yeah that’s how excited we are to have a vacation.

Am I ready? Hmmm.. I don’t know.. hehe. I have lots of things to prepare - my bags, clothes, money (for shopping and food, hehe) and others.

But what I’m really looking forward is the travel and time to relax and enjoy. I look forward seeing the sunset, breathing the cool breeze of the sea, white sand, food and of course lots of pictures.

I’m counting down the days… More stories and picture soon.. promise

Cheers to stress-free days…

Sunday’s Celebrations

June 15 is surely a date of celebrations.. First, it’s a Sunday, so to most people it’s a rest day as well as family day. But this year is more special since we also celebrates fathers day.

So may heartfelt greetings to all Dads’ in the world.

Happy Father’s Day!!!

How did we celebrate it? We cook lots of food and spend the day together. The menu: for breakfast we had bread (courtesy of my tita’s bakery), ham, bacon and egg, coffee and milk. For our lunch: mom and I cook somai, baked squid (c/o my sis), beef steak and grilled tilapia. We also had spaghetti for snack. We had soup and squid and pork for dinner. As for desert we had some peaches and gelatin. Wow as in lots of food. Food is love! Too bad my dad can’t eat well, but was really happy that day. Again Happy Father’s day Dad! Mwahh. Get well soon.

Another reason to celebrate – its Glady’s and Franc’s birthday.

(me and Glady Girl)

Glady – Who’s Glady? Glady is: Senadora of Marketing Dept, Glady girl to some, ate Glad, Glad, housemate, roommate a few words you can associate to her. One thing is for sure she’s a good friend.. *wink* She’s now celebrating her __ birthday, oppz I forgot her age, maybe you can ask her and visit her site to know her more at Glady Girl (I might not able to do my work if I’ll keep on talking, space may not be enough, hehe) Anyways, happy happy birthday Glad, by the way have you open the site that I gave you, it’s my gift,heheh..

Franc – one of the sweetest cousin I have. He’s really caring and thoughtful. Whenever he visits us, he sees to it that we all have a great time and spend quality time together. We may seldom see each other but then we’re really close. Happy Birthday Aco!!!!

It’s feels good to celebrate.. A simple and intimate celebrations with the loved ones is great and a moment to treasure.

The Art of Lying

My mind is pre-occupied with a lot of things – but I’m too lazy to write it/blog it.

Anyways, I’ve been thinking over things lately, and my head is spinning.. Gosh! How I hate it!
Suddenly, the word Lying came up. I don’t know what got into me and thought of that word. Hehe. Then lots of things/queries came. The kinds of lies, is there good in lying or how can you tell if someone is lying and etc.

Lying? Why do people lie? It’s really a wide/broad topic to discuss with. I for one doesn’t know where to start and how. Hehe.

Lies – To make a statement that one knows to be false, especially with the intend to deceive; To give a false impression; Anything that gives or is meant to give a false impression.

Kinds of Lies:

White lie - would cause no discord if it were uncovered and offers some benefit to the liar, the hearer, or both. used to avoid offense.
Bald-faced lie - a lie that is told when it is obvious to all concerned that it is a lie.
Lies of Omission - omitting an important fact, deliberately leaving another person with a misconception.
Lie-to-children - a lie that is told to make an adult subject acceptable to children.
Emergency lie - a strategic lie told when the truth may not be told because, for example, harm to a third party would come of it.
Perjury - act of lying or making verifiably false statements on a material matter under oath or affirmation in a court of law or in any of various sworn statements in writing.
Misleading - one where there isn't an outright lie, but still has the purpose of making someone believe in an untruth.
Exaggeration - occurs when the most fundamental aspect(s) of a statement is true, but the degree to which it is true is not correct.

Basic tell-tell signs:

1. Speaking quickly and excessive fluctuations in pitch of voice
2. Person becomes fidgety and hesitant when questioned on detail
3. Failure to make eye-contact

Check list to spot those tellers of tales:

  • Watch out for long pauses and stutters usually accompanied by slow speech
  • Less frequent mention of specifics such as place names, times, locationsA lie usually has more structure as the liar attempts to overcompensate by telling events in sequential or chronological order
  • Unnecessary finger pointing, nervous foot tapping, or exaggerated facial expressions of being falsely accused, are all common indicators.
  • A lie usually has more structure as the liar attempts to overcompensate by telling events in sequential or chronological order
  • The emotion conveyed in the lie should be consistent with facial expression, any slight inconsistencies usually indicate a falsehood
  • Liars often behave abnormally due to the added pressure of trying to convincingly lie, look out for signs of mental weariness and emotional strain as the lie progresses

"Tell a lie often enough, loud enough, and long enough and people will believe you."

A lie is not in the words, or lack of words; it's in the intention of the deceiver.

Friends of Mine

I have loots of friends – and really love them dearly. I haven’t spoke to some of them for years but really care for them a lot. I miss the times we’ve spend together laughing, crying to non-sense things even our little arguments. We’ll there’s no such perfect friendship.. There are times that friendship is put on a test. It really depends - how you friends handle such situation. I am so glad and thankful that though there are little differences and issues my friends and I encounter, we’re able to survive it and made the best out of it. We’re able to build a strong bond between us that no matter what happens in our way, we’ll always be friends and accept things the way it is.

Friends.. Its really good to have friends.. Lucky me to have Friends to cry on, to talk with or just knowing that you have a company even without uttering words.

Anyways, while cleaning up some stuff on my table, I found a CD – wondering what’s in it – I tried it – and found out that it was a collection of pictures and videos of my friends for the past years. It really melts my heart seeing those pictures and remembering the good times we had before. I really miss them.. (We’re all busy with our life now and we only see/gather if there’s an occasion.)

Miss you guys and looking forward spending more quality time together again soon. Meanwhile this song really meant a lot to us:

Count on Me

Chorus]

Count on me through think and thin
A friendship I will never end
When you are weak, I will be strong
Helping you to carry on
Call on me, I will be there
Don't be afraid
Please believe me when I say
Count on...

[Verse1]
I can see it's hurting you
I can feel the pain
It's hard to see the sunshine though the rain
I know sometimes it seems as if
It's never gonna end
But you'll get through it
Just don't give in cause you can...

[chorus]

[Verse2]
I know sometimes it seems as if
We're standing all alone
But we'll get though it
Cause love won't let us fall

[chorus]

There's a place inside of all of us
Where our faith in love begins
You should reach to find the truth in love
The answers there within, oh
I know that life can make you feel
It's much harder than it really is
But we'll get through it
Just don't give in

[chorus]

Whitney: count on
Ce Ce: Count on
Whitney: Count on
Ce Ce: Count on
Whitney: Count on
Ce Ce: Count on
Both: meeeeeeeee
Whitney: oh yes you can
Ce ce: no i can't
Whitney: Sure you can
Ce Ce: Oh yeah
Whitney: so glad i can
Ce Ce: Count on me
Whitney: Count on me Baby

Happy Blog-day to Me!!

(a gift given by Glady girl, thanks a lot!)

Happy 1st year anniversary to my Blog!

I still remember my first post – really don’t have an idea on what to post. Hehe. I’m really proud/ happy to have this blog of mine. This is my way of expressing myself. It has become my outlet whenever I feel sad, hurt or my non-sense stories, rants and been part of every celebration I had over the year.

What made me write a blog? Why iluvhubbes? Why anything goes?

I don’t know, hehe. I was inspired to blog partly because of my job – one of my tasks before was blog comenting – so I said why not try blogging. So got myself a blogger account and the rest is history.

I can’t think of a name at that time. My creativity sucks. I wanted it something unique or something nice. A lot of names came up into my mind but I’m not sure if it fits. (ang arte).

Then I remember something… and came up with – iluvhubbes.

Anything Goes – can’t think of a better title at that time and really can’t decide on what topic to write about, so I settled with Anything Goes as my title. True enough, my blog is kinda random when it comes to post – work, life, travel, rants and just about anything.

Its really nice to celebrate… and wishing many more blog writing years to come as well as off and online friends to meet..

Thanks everyone, especially my blog visitor (well assuming I have readers!).

Tagged time

tagged by: paul :)

You share 8 things that your readers don't know about you. Then at the end you tag 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going.

* each blogger must post these rules first.
* each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* at the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

1. Afraid of Dogs
* yep, but now I’m learning to love them especially now that we own one – Charming (a st Bernard/chow-chow breed)

2. Left handed

* the only left-handed in the family
3. Stays at a boarding house
* yep, when I started working. :) (to save some bucks and less-travel time)
4. I don’t know how to draw
* hehe, well I’ve tried it but I think its not really my talent, though I appreciate arts a lot.. (ironic isn’t it)
5. Has allergy on detergent
* yep, well I tried doing our laundry before, something awful happened; I had some rashes and my body turned red and itchy. (kaya di na ko nag lalaba, especially if maramihan)
6. I don’t sing
* really! I don’t sing (love music but the music doesn’t love me, hehehe, how classical)
7. The eldest among 3 siblings
* too bad, my other siblings is taller than me :(
8. Love to study
* too bad I don’t have time to pursue my Masters Degree (though I still hope I’ll find time and finish it) wish me luck.

Days before my parents anniversary, my sister and I are thinking of what to do on this special day. Since we ran out of ideas, we ended up treating them at a resto. We had our dinner at South Ocean Villa. It was really an intimate dinner party. It was simple, sumptuous food (loveit! No diet for me,lolz)
